It uses the TJA1050 CAN transceiver to convert digital transmit and receive signals from a CAN controller into differential CANH and CANL signals used by the CAN Bus. The module is suitable for automotive electronics, industrial automation, robotics, and embedded systems that require reliable communication between multiple devices.
Important: The TJA1050 is a CAN transceiver, not a CAN controller. A CAN controller is required to manage the CAN protocol.

Pin Configuration
The module typically provides the following logic-side connections:
- VCC – 5V power supply.

- TXD – Transmit data input from the CAN controller.

How It Works
The CAN controller sends digital data to the TXD input of the TJA1050. The transceiver converts this data into differential signals on CANH and CANL for transmission across the CAN Bus.
When data is received from the CAN Bus, the TJA1050 converts the differential CAN signal into a digital signal on RXD, which is then processed by the CAN controller.
Important Note
The TJA1050 module alone does not provide a complete CAN controller. If the microcontroller does not have a built-in CAN controller, an additional CAN controller such as an MCP2515 may be required.
For a reliable CAN network, proper bus wiring and termination resistors should also be considered according to the network topology and CAN Bus requirements.
